Exodus 14 & 15
Does God allow and use Spirit
led trouble and trials to strengthen us to bring us into our
inheritance?In this portion
of scripture in Exodus 14 & 15, we see how God led the
Israelites right into a problem where no human power could deliver
them.If they were to be
saved, they had to depend upon the arm of the Lord.God took from them all hope of any
human help, and even gave their adversaries (seemingly) every
advantage against them.
Just imagine what it must
have been like on that day when the Israelites were boxed in and
pushed up against the Red Sea with the Egyptians pursing them from
the wilderness.No, there was
no way out and the LORD had led them there! They cried out to Moses, "Is
it because there were no graves in Egypt that you have taken us here
to die in the wilderness?" (Ex.14:11)They couldn't see anything except
the impossible Red Sea before them and their enemies behind
them.Their promised land,
inheritance and provision was just ahead and God was about to lead
there, but they had no "eyes of faith".
They cried out in fear,
bewilderment and grief over their loss of provision in anger at their
hardship against Moses and the Lord.God understood the place where they were and He gave them a
word of hope that would instill faith in their hearts if they would
believe Him.He said in Ex.
14:13-14, "Stand still and see the salvation of the LORD which
He will accomplish for you today. For the Egyptians whom you see today, you shall see again no
more forever.The LORD will
fight for you while you keep silent."Stand still? Keep silent? What else
could they do?
God's people were to go
forward - not go back and not give up.This was a battle that only God
Himself, their mighty Man of war could fight on their behalf! He would provide for their
salvation (The Hebrew translation for salvation comes from a term
that has to do with space or room.)The LORD would provide for their salvation (make room or space
in their boxed in, hopeless circumstance).
Moses believed God.He lifted up his staff and stretched
out his hand over the Red Sea.Then, the angel of God who had been going before the camp of
Israel (leading them right into the place they found themselves so He
could show His glory) removed and went behind them. The pillar of cloud moved from
before them and stood behind them so that it came between the camp of
Egypt and the camp of Israel.
The LORD swept the sea back
by a strong east wind all night and turned the sea into dry land, so
the waters were divided like a wall on the right and on the left for
them to pass over.The enemy
stood still as a stone in fear and dread till Israel passed over!
Many of us today find
ourselves in wilderness circumstances with a Red Sea before us and
the enemy pursing us from behind.God is not limited and He never leaves us, nor forsakes
us.When He speaks His Word of
faith to us, it has "supernatural strength" to deliver us,
because He watches over His Word to perform it as we apply it to our
We pray, Lord, that You will
implant Your Word in our hearts so we can stand and believe to see
Your salvation (supernatural room or space for victory) in our boxed
in, hopeless places.Lord,
enlarge our steps under us and our feet will not slip (See Ps. 18:36).
We yield our lives totally to You and trust You with Your plan for
our lives, desiring You to fulfill Your purpose in and through
us. In the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.

Line Ministries for Christ was established to assist individuals,
churches and organizations who seek to develop prayer ministries
and/or facilitate community prayer and outreach. The Lord has
placed in my heart a passion to see hurting people saved, healed
and restored in the Name of Jesus, and I believe prayer is the
foundation to see God's command in the Great Commission
(Mark 16:15-18) fulfilled.
would be such an honor and privilege if I can be a blessing to you!
